Web2 May 2010 · SMG has 2 fluids: transmission fluid and then the hydraulic fluid for the SMG. The Hydraulic fluid does not need to be changed (the stuff with the res. under the hood). The fluid in the transmission itself DOES need to be changed (at least here in the US). Maybe in Europe it is different. Web7 Jul 2024 · smgsociety · #7 · Jul 7, 2024 (Edited) Sorry for late reply. You would have to pull out the clutch slave cylinder which is not that much of work. Two screws fix it to the gearbox. If you see oil on the black cover or on the metal rod in front, you can be sure that you found your leak.

Web8 May 2015 · I just bought a 3.0l E85 with an SMG box. the car has only done 42K and is generally in good condition. However the SMG box is starting to play up. At times the box is fine, it will change up and down using stick or paddles. At other times the paddles hardly seem to work and if just cruising the box will jump from 3rd or 4th to 1st.
